Restaurant inspections in Clark County
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) inspects restaurants across Clark County, including Las Vegas, unannounced and at least once a year. Every restaurant posts an A, B or C grade card.
What the results mean
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| A | 0 to 10 demerits. |
| B | 11 to 20 demerits, or the same priority or priority foundation violation found again. |
| C | 21 to 40 demerits, or a B that gets 11 or more on its re-inspection. |
| Closure | Over 40 demerits, an imminent health hazard, or a C that fails its re-inspection. |
| Pass / Fail | For farmers markets and a few other permits: 0 to 15 demerits passes. |

Good to know
- Fewer demerits is better: a priority violation costs 5, a priority foundation one 3.
- A B or C is re-inspected after 15 business days, and can win back the A.
- Each permit posts its own card, so one casino can show many different grades.
Check or report a restaurant
- Search SNHD's Restaurant Inspection Search. Inspections appear about 5 business days after they happen.
- Use the Restaurants/Food Establishment complaint option on SNHD's Report page.
